The body of an elderly man was discoeverd this evening in a blazing house in Bellhouse Way, York.
Fire crews were alerted shortly after 5.50pm and the house was left severely damaged.
A spokewoman for North Yorkshire Police said tonight that enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the fire and the area will remain cordoned off overnight.
No further details will be available until relatives have been informed.
