A PROSTITUTE has told how she escaped almost naked through a window at a punter’s home when she thought she was going to be raped.

The woman said she ran barefoot from North Ormesby, on the outskirts of Middlesbrough, to her home in the town centre in the early morning.

In a recorded interview with detectives, she said she told her boyfriend about the ordeal and was persuaded to go to the police.

Liam Massey, 22, is on trial accused of the attempted rape of the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, on February 6, this year.

The jury at Teesside Crown Court has been told that the pair met in Middlesbrough town centre and arranged to go to Mr Massey’s home.

The alleged victim said she refused to offer further services without more cash after his initial £40 for the agreed 20 minutes was up.

She said in the recorded interview that Mr Massey screamed at her: “I’m not f***ing happy with this... I want my f***ing money back.”

After his arrest, Mr Massey said they had agreed full sex, but he had second thoughts during their meeting and asked for a refund.

He told police they became embroiled in a struggle when the prostitute refused to hand back his cash, and she may have got hurt.

The jury heard that the woman, who is in her 30s, had her injuries photographed, and gave a three-hour statement the next day.

She said she tried to get off the bed after the dispute and put on her clothes, but Mr Massey told her: “I want more than that for my £40.”

In the interview, she said he pushed her back onto the bed, tried to force open her legs, and that she feared she was going to be raped.

She said she managed to fight her way free but was pulled back and they “had a bit of a scuffle” before she fled down the stairs.

After twice being put in a headlock and escaping, the woman said she finally got out of a downstairs window and ran all the way home.

Mr Massey, of Kimberley Drive, Middlesbrough, denies a charge of attempted rape and faces a four-day trial.
