Adil Ditta is at the centre of one of the biggest transfer shocks in recent times after leaving champions Saltburn for Middlesbrough.

The talented all-rounder steered Saltburn to the championship last season, but this week opted to return to his home town club.

"We are absolutely delighted at Adil's decision. He will add his considerable skill and experience to our side and I'm looking forward to working with him," said Boro captain Danny Evans.

Adil's brother Amer has also quit the Seasiders for Acklam Park but the transfer activity has not been one way with Colin Haslett and Guy Whatmore leaving Boro for Marske.

Middlesbrough meet Marske today with Adil Ditta making his return. Hamza Hussain fills the other vacancy and Marske name Whatmore but Haslett is unavailable.

"I'm pleased to have signed the two players who approached us this week. They will add strength to our batting and they will be good for the club," said Marske captain Chris Nichols.

Normanby Hall, who failed to win one of their first ten games, aim for a hat-trick of victories against table-topping Bishop Auckland at Kingsway where they will again be without Mark Lane.

Bishops, the only unbeaten side, are in a rich vein of form and have Andy Bowman back from holiday but Mark Romaines is doubtful with a foot injury.

"Things are going very nicely and we've won seven and drawn five games, but we are just 20 points ahead, which is not a big margin," observed Bishops' captain Ben Usher.

Great Ayton, the only side to win in last Sunday's rain-affected programme, are second ahead of their visit to rival championship challengers Hartlepool.

They show two changes with Bilal Rasool and Glen Mudd in for John Russell and Chris Batchelor. John Daniels retains his place in the Pools line-up.

Darlington are fourth from the basement and against Guisborough at Feethams are pleased to have Gary Moody available and he is a straight replacement for Duncan Johnson. Stuart Mackay is home from holiday and is named by the visitors.

Matthew Telling cannot play so Marton have John Tait in their side at home to Darlington RA, who are hoping that their recent improved form will soon be reflected in results.

A third player has departed Saltburn with Tim Hood returning to former club Redcar, who have doubts surrounding Martin Reeves and Mally Whitehead for the game with Northallerton.

Brothers Ian and John Place miss out for the visitors who replace the pair with John Sample and Doug Mulholland.

Saltburn play Richmondshire who are unchanged. Durham County's Mark Davies, a big success in the few games he has played, is not available for Richmond.
