JUNE Wood has shown she will do anything - including a marathon hike - for a cuppa at all her favourite tearooms.

Mrs Wood, who manages Bettys tearooms in Harrogate, completed a four-day walk along a 75-mile route which took her from that branch to the others at York, Ilkley and Northallerton.

Mrs Wood's sponsors gave almost £1,000 to help Forest School at Knaresborough, a school for children with learning difficulties.

Mrs Wood said: "We've heard of customers driving or even cycling from branch to branch. I wanted to be the first to walk the route, and what better way to do it than to raise money to help the school at the same time."

As she rested her tired feet, pupils from Forest School visited the Harrogate branch to serve her tea and cakes.
