A SPECIALIST nurse has said thank you to sponsors who helped her raise more than £6,000 for charity.
Sarah Ayrton, 35, spent 11 days trekking through the Brazilian rainforest in December.
Miss Ayrton worked at Northallerton's Friarage Hospital for a number of years and is now a specialist breastcare nurse at the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
She decided to take on the challenge in aid of charity Breast Cancer Care after being inspired by her patients. In total, she raised £6,246.50.
"I would just like to thank everyone who supported me and sponsored me," she said.
"It was a brilliant experience and the whole group on the trek managed to raise £119,000 for Breast Cancer Care."
