BEVERLEY racecourse is situated on the famous Westwood, a picturesque setting amid the rolling Yorkshire Wolds, overlooking the historic East Yorkshire minister town. There has been racing on the site since 1690.

There are 19 scheduled racedays on the Flat at Beverley in 2006, from April to September.

The Hilary Needler Trophy, a Listed race for juvenile fillies, has been won in recent years by Attraction, Good Girl, Freefourracing, and Flanders. Last year's winner, Clare Hills, was trained in North Yorkshire by Karl Burke.

Precocious colts are catered for by The Brian Yeardley Continental TwoYear-Old Trophy, with Mind Games, Firebreak, and Rosselli included in the recent roll of honour for this Conditions race.

HOW TO GET THERE: By car - the racecourse is on the Westwood, to the west of the town on the York Road, seven miles from Junction 38 of the M62.

DESCRIPTION OF TRACK: Beverley is a righthanded oval track of one mile and three furlongs, with a short uphill run-in of two-and-a-half furlongs.
