ABOUT 20 homes had their water supplies disrupted when workers accidentally punctured a 4in main in Iveston Road, Delves Lane, near Consett, County Durham, yesterday.
A Northumbrian Water spokesman said contractors working for a gas company punctured the main at 4pm.
The leak was isolated and workers were last night repairing the damage.
