A DOG lover has won an award for her work re-homing abandoned greyhounds.
Karen Fraser was praised for her work with the Retired Greyhound Trust's Yorkshire branch.
In the past four years running the Yorkshire branch, the charity worker has re-homed 63 greyhounds.
Her work was honoured at the Northern Greyhound Racetracks Annual Awards.
She said: "I was really surprised and honoured to win the award - I didn't expect it at all.
"However, awards and glory aside, there is nothing more rewarding for me than seeing how quickly a greyhound becomes a valued member of its new family. I have come to learn that they really are amazing animals - loyal, affectionate and calm."
The charity was set up in 1975, with 59 branches across the country and has re-homed more than 30,000 dogs.
