A SWORD dancing team has been honoured after performing on top of York Minster.
The Valknut Rappers, from Northallerton College, recently took park in a Dancing England Rapper Tournament, in York.
The teenagers won the award for performing in the most unusual venue.
Rapping is a traditional form of sword dancing that originated in coal mining communities.
Troupe squire, Amy Rutland, 16, of Brompton, said: "Some teams danced in the river, another one in a phonebox. We begged the people at York Minster to allow us to dance at the top of one of the towers and they let us."
