AN unsung hero has been awarded for her contribution to teaching on Teesside.
Supply teacher Lucy McDonald was presented with the Teacher of the Term award from local recruitment agency Select Education.
The primary school teacher from Acklam has been on a long-term placement at Middlesbrough's Corporation Road Community Primary School.
She was awarded flowers and champagne for her enthusiasm and her commitment to the industry.
Chris Martin, primary consultant at Select Education, said: "Supply teachers are all too often the unsung heroes of the education profession. This award demonstrates our appreciation for the job they do and the benefits supply teachers bring to children across the UK."
