SAM Russell believes the only way Darlington can guarantee a play-off place is by winning all their remaining games.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has targeted three wins from three if Darlington are to finish in the top seven.

Beginning with the visit of struggling Bury tomorrow, Russell hopes three points there will be repeated against Wycombe and Wrexham.

"We have to be looking for maximum points from our remaining games," said Russell.

"I wouldn't say we have an easy run-in, but every game now is going to be massive.

"The last three or four matches have been very important and they're only going to get bigger for us.

"There are still quite a few teams involved, but there are going to be less and less over the next couple of games.

"Hopefully, at the end of it all we'll be the team left in and we can look forward to the play-offs."

Russell is disappointed Quakers are not already involved in the play-off mix, having wasted several opportunities to establish themselves in the top seven this season.

But, with just two points separating them from seventh-placed Lincoln, the former Middlesbrough stopper is upbeat.

"We're still hanging in there and we still have it all to play for," said Russell.

"We've missed chances to move up into the play-offs and when we have done well other teams have won.

"When we look back there are games we should have won, where we've ended up losing or drawing.

"That happened a lot last season and in the end it cost us a play-off place.

"Hopefully, that won't happen again and between now and the end of the season we have to finish as strongly as possible."

Matty Appleby begins a four-match ban tomorrow after his sending off for violent conduct at Cheltenham on Easter Monday.

Quakers expect to welcome back defender Shelton Martis. The Dutchman has missed the last two games with an Achilles injury.

However, full-back Joe Kendrick remains a doubt with a back problem.
