YOUNG rock stars will take centre stage when east Durham showcases its homegrown musical talent.
Five bands will perform at Eastlea Community Centre, in Seaham, on Saturday.
All the bands were formed during weekly workshops at the centre, which were organised by Easington District Council in partnership with the Sage Gateshead's CoMusica project, Arts Council England and the Foundation for Youth Music
The management of the project has been taken over by a committee of parents and young people and the show, which will begin at 6pm, will be its first fundraising event.
The five bands featuring in the show are Misguided Perception, Distorted Accuracy, Forged Identity, 360 Degrees and Hell's Rival.
Tickets, priced £2, are available from Eastlea Community Centre. For more details, call Dave Clarke on 0191-527 0501 extension 4738.
