BUDDING actors received rave reviews when they took to the stage in pantomime.

Youngsters involved in the Fishburn Pantomime Project performed Sleeping Beauty to packed audiences over six nights at Fishburn Youth and Community Centre.

The panto helped 14 youngsters achieve bronze and silver level in the Youth Achievement Award programme.

It also raised £1,316 for the youth centre and £274 was donated to Haswell and District Gateway club.

A number of fundraising events, including jumble sales and raffles, took place to make the pantomime possible.

Contributions also came from the local community and the Connexions youth service, which donated £300 towards costumes and scenery made with the help of volunteers.

Organisers are now looking for donations for next year's production. To make a contribution, contact Carole Mason at Fishburn Pantomime Project, c/o Fishburn Youth and Community Centre, Butterwick Road, Fishburn, Stockton-On-Tees, TS21 4ED.
