FOUR officers from the Royal Corps of Signals put a group of students through their paces.

About 25 year ten pupils at Hurworth School attended the information session at the school on Friday.

Sergeant Dave Worsfold said: "We are giving them an insight into what we do in the Royal Signals.

"We travel around the country across schools and universities. It is not recruitment but a presentation to open the door for them."

The session started with a 30-minute presentation of the corps, who are leaders in communications and information technology in the Army.

Pupils also took part in a number of communication tasks, including a problem-solving challenge, an obstacle course and a blindfolded assignment.
