DIMI Konstantopoulos admits confidence is flowing through the Hartlepool United camp once again.

After a miserable run of results was turned around, Pool have not conceded a goal in three unbeaten games under the control of temporary boss Paul Stephenson.

The big Greek keeper and his defence have a solid appearance, in stark contrast to the humiliating 3-0 home defeat to Blackpool which proved the end for former boss Martin Scott.

Stephenson, an attacking winger during his playing days, joked after the goalless draw at Tranmere in midweek that he would be getting a reputatuion for being a boring, defensive orientated coach.

But Konstantopoulos believes it's simpler that that - he has restored some much-needed belief to the squad.

"It's very nice to keep three clean sheets like we have, we are very confident at the back,'' he said.

"And the more games you play like that the better and more confident you become and we are very confident right now.

"The two central defenders in front of me have been brilliant together.

"They haven't had the chance this season to play many games, but now they are showing they have a good partnership and it's going well for them.

"They didn't have many problems at Tranmere the other night and I had probably one big save to make.

"Tranmere are a decent team and have gone a few games since they lost, so we expected to have to defend at times, but we coped with their pressure really well.

"I didn't quite have as many saves to make as I did in the play-offs last season, but I don't mind that to be honest.

Konstantopoulos has kept three successive clean sheets once before, last season over the Festive programme against Oldham, Bristol City and Barnsley.

With no game tomorrow, he must wait until next Saturday, when Doncaster visit Victoria Park, to try and stretch his run.

"Things are really looking up for us right now,'' he added. "You can see the confidence is there throughout the whole team and I think in the last three games, everyone has done really well.

"Now it's a matter of building on it. We would take a 0-0 draw any game away from home. Do that and then win your home games and things are looking good for you.

"We won at home last week and it was a very enjoyable night for everyone. The crowd gave everyone a massive boost by backing us all the way and I think that was the key.

"We've a little break now and we go into it confident. No game this weekend and then we can start to look ahead to the next game.

"Paul Stephenson has came in and lifted everyone, we are enjoying playing games.

"The dressing room has never been a problem because we have that togetherness as a group of players.

"He has came in and told us all to enjoy our football and I think you can see that we are.''
