TWO brothers have opened a betting shop in the region.
Jim and Norman Fannon have combined their 30 years experience in the industry to open a gambling business in Gateshead.
The pair have launched Sports Betting, in Trinity Square, after securing a lease on the premises with help from local law firm Gordon Brown Associates.
In the past, Norman had run betting shops in Chester-le-Street and Lumley, while Jim had premises in Shiney Row until 1999 before working at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium.
Gordon Brown, senior partner at Gordon Brown Associates, said: "Jim and Norman have a vast amount of experience in the betting industry and are well known in their industry across the North-East. It is good to be able to help them open their first shop as a joint venture."
