NEWCASTLE and Leeds-based law firm Watson Burton has set up a human resources consultancy.
It is the only regional law firm to offer the service.
The HR consultancy will be led by specialist Ian Farrand, and will operate as part of the firm's growing employment law practice. The service is aimed at providing the firm with a link between case law and in-house HR practice.
Dr John McMullen, the head of Watson Burton's employment group, said: "Ian brings his contemporary industry knowledge to our weighty legal resources.
"His skills close the loop in many complicated employment cases, and add a valuable dimension to the overall package we offer clients."
Mr Farrand will be working from the Newcastle and Leeds offices of Watson Burton.
