GROUPS looking to boost membership and raise their profile are being offered free publicity.
Sedgefield Borough Council and partner organisations are creating a website for children and young people and a sports directory.
The website -www.offthestreet. org.uk - can be used to find out about local clubs, activities and groups that offer activities, advice and services to children and young people.
The site, which features almost 750 activities such as toddler groups and mountain biking, will be launched in April, though a draft site is operating now.
It will keep the public informed and will be used by groups such as the police and health organisations to tell youngsters and their families what is available in the borough.
The sports directory will highlight sporting opportunities in the borough, and clubs are urged to register and promote their activities for free.
