SIX lucky youngsters have received football tickets to reward their outstanding work and effort in homework clubs.
The six, aged ten to 13, have been presented with tickets to Hartlepool United's home game against Chesterfield next Friday.
Homework clubs run on weekday evenings at most of Hartlepool's libraries, giving young people an opportunity to carry out extra study in an environment packed with research materials and free from distractions.
Central Library's homework club runs on every weekday evening, plus all day on Saturdays and Sundays, and youngsters have recently been working on a project looking at how the many cconflicts since the Second World War have affected young people.
The project links in with the Imperial War Museum exhibition Their Past, Your Future, which is currently running at Hartlepool Art Gallery.
Gillian Slimings, children and young person's librarian, said: "Everyone has done very well, but the six young people chosen to receive the football tickets stood out particularly in terms of their attendance, effort and the quality of their completed projects."
The children who received their tickets yesterday are James Chapman, eight, Jack Wright, ten, Scott Lee Scott, 14, Benjamin Donnison, 13, Barry Hunter, 15, and Kerry Doherty, 12.
