GRANTS have been made to two community groups by the charitable arm of a North-East bakery.
The Greggs Trust is providing a total of £67,500 to Delves Lane Community Association and the Consett Churches Detached Youth Project, both near Consett, County Durham.
The association, which is based in Delves Lane Village Hall, receives £45,000 over the next three years towards the salary of a full-time activities co-ordinator.
Administrator Ann Westgarth said: "I would like to say a very sincere thank you to Greggs Trust, from myself and from our trustees."
Trust manager Jenni Wagstaff said: "As demand for the hall increases, more work is needed to co-ordinate activities, courses and services, as well as trying to build on and expand the range of provision to the community."
Consett Churches Detached Youth Project, which was established in 1981 following the closure of the steelworks, provides activities and educational workshops, from fishing and archery to martial arts and drugs awareness.
It has been awarded £22,500 over the next three years.
