Manager Martin Scott has been suspended by Hartlepool United.

Tempers in the home dressing room reportedly flared following Pools dismal 3-0 defeat at home to fellow strugglers Blackpool on Saturday.

A club statement read: Following the incidents in and around the players dressing room after the game on Saturday, the club has suspended Martin Scott from his duties pending a full internal investigation into the events that took place.

Martin is co-operating fully with this procedure since his return from his UEFA coaching course yesterday evening.

Scott took charge of Hartlepool's play-off campaign last season following the sudden departure of Neale Cooper, with the club losing in the final to Sheffield Wednesday.

However, they are currently languishing fourth from bottom in the table, without a win in their last nine games, and the pressure has been mounting on the former Sunderland player.
