TOFFEE, an 11-month-old, tri-coloured collie, needs a new home.
The dog was taken in by its last owners when four months old, but they quickly realised the animal needed more attention and exercise than they could give.
They gave Toffee to animal charity The National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (NASSL), in Darlington.
Pauline Wilson, of NASSL, said: "He is absolutely beautiful. He is one of life's lovely dogs, he walks well, sits and give you his paw."
Toffee is now fully grown and of medium size. He has a soft, sweet nature and loves people. Mrs Wilson said: "He would make an ideal companion for another dog, or he would be a lot of fun on his own. He needs a fair bit of exercise and would love something like an agility club."
Anyone who thinks they can offer Toffee a new home should contact Mrs Wilson on 07748 268822 or (01325) 321855.
Mrs Wilson also thanked Asda in Spennymoor, which recently raised money for the charity with a hot dog day
