A TEN-MONTH-OLD puppy was abandoned by his owners just days before Christmas.
Fortunately, the animal found shelter with County Durham greyhound rescuer Angela Taylor, and is now looking for a loving family home.
Known as Joe, the dog is a Whippet/Saluki cross with a warm and friendly nature and seems unaffected by being left on his own.
Mrs Taylor said: "He is such a happy dog and has the waggiest tail I have ever seen.
"He needs to find someone who will spend a lot of time with him playing and taking him for walks.''
Joe has been fully vaccinated and neutered. Anyone who can offer a home can contact Mrs Taylor on (01388) 812782.
