AGE Concern is thanking supporters who helped in the running of one of its premises in the past year.
Tracey Redford, shop manager at Age Concern's Chester-le-Street shop, said without its "loyal team of volunteers", the charity would not be able to run its network of shops effectively.
She said: "Without our donors and customers we would not be able to raise funds for this important cause."
Mrs Redford urged people having a post-Christmas clear-out to think of Age Concern.
"Age Concern is always in need of donations. Whether quality clothing for all the family, bric-a-brac, books or unwanted gifts, the local shop would always be grateful. We can also arrange to collect any donations, if necessary."
