PROUD parents watched as 350 young soldiers graduated from college this week.
The youngsters joined the Army Foundation College, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, in January.
The 12-month course combined military skills and vocational qualifications.
The troops were inspected by General Sir Richard Dannatt, Commander-in-Chief Land Command, during their passing out parade on Thursday.
The students will now receive further training in their chosen discipline.
College commandant, Lieutenant Colonel Lee Drakeley said: "The numbers and quality of the young soldiers who were on parade is crucial to the long-term future of the Army.
"The number of junior soldiers graduating this time is the equivalent of a complete new regiment entering the ranks of the combat arms.
"I would like to pay tribute to the motivation and commitment shown by these young men and women and to their families for their support."
The college caters for 1,344 junior soldiers each year.
