A LARGE black and white cat has been taken into RSPCA care after being found in the Stanley Crook area.
It is hoped that the animal's owner can be found urgently, or a volunteer to foster him.
The cat has been nicknamed Stanley and is currently being homed at Deerness Boarding Kennels, in Langley Moor.
A spokesman for the kennels said: "If the owner doesn't come forward, we have to start thinking about trying to find a new home for them. We de-flea them and vaccinate them.
"We've called him Stanley because of where he was found. He is adorable. He's really big but very friendly."
The owner of the cat, or anybody interested in fostering him, is asked to call (01388) 730248.
