SHOPPERS helped to raise money for a Darlington charity by buying bottles of lager.
A fundraising partnership between Asda and Dutch brewer Grolsch raised £300 for St Teresa's Hospice.
Asda stores nationwide were urged to increase sales of the lager to raise money for local charities as part of the Grolsch Community Award Scheme.
Sarah Makepeace, events manager at Darlington's Asda store, said: "We do a lot of work for St Teresa's and have adopted it as our chosen charity on several occasions.
"All of our staff are proud to support such a worthwhile local organisation and we hope to offer much more help in the future."
Jane Bradshaw, director of the hospice, said: "We are very grateful for Asda's continued support and their efforts in the Grolsch scheme.
"This latest donation is warmly welcomed by all at the hospice."
