POLICE are trying to identify a man who fell to his death underneath the wheels of a freight train at Newcastle Central Station.
The man, who had no identification, is thought to be between 25 and 35 and had football tattoos. He was wearing a black pinstripe suit and is thought to have been out on a Christmas party.
The incident happened at 3.30am yesterday on the station's platform three. The man suffered multiple injuries after being hit by the slow-moving train.
British Transport Police are urging anyone who can help identify the dead man to call them 0800 40 50 40.
