AN initiative aimed at encouraging parents not to smoke near their children will come to a conclusion with a £100 voucher prize draw.
Parents in Scarborough have signed up to a challenge to protect children from the harmful effects of breathing second-hand smoke.
To make a gold promise, parents had to pledge to make their home totally smoke-free. To earn silver, smoking was restricted to one well-ventilated room in the house, away from children. A bronze was awarded to parents who promised never to smoke in the presence of children. The draw for the B&Q vouchers will be made on December 31.
