MORE than £1,000 was raised for a Teesdale bagpipe band when it performed in Darlington.
The Rowan Pipe Band performed in the town on Monday to raise money.
Pipe major Barry Waldron said: "We got a wonderful reception, and played some requests, including Flower of Scotland.
"We raised a total of £1,026.51 and would like to thank the borough council for allowing us to collect, and all those who donated and made appreciative comments."
The money will be used for the purchase and maintenance of band equipment.
Any experienced pipers interested in joining the band can contact (01833) 660562 for details.
