HOUSE prices in the county are continuing to perform poorly compared to the rest of the UK, new figures show.
The latest Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors housing market survey shows that more chartered surveyors in North Yorkshire are reporting a drop in house prices than an increase.
In comparison, the national picture shows more chartered surveyors reporting rises than falls.
Unlike the rest of the UK, August's interest rate cuts did not trigger a rise in buyer inquiries in Yorkshire.
Philip Mills, from Norman F Brown, in Bedale, said: "We anticipate the market will continue to slowly improve in the new year."
