A woman wearing only a nightdress was chased around her home by her landlord demanding sex, a court was told yesterday.

The 30-year-old told police that one morning, Barry Taylor, 67, forced her to perform a sex act on him three times, nipped her breasts, beat her with a studded belt and urinated on her. Mr Taylor said the woman consented to the sex and he said that he gave her £20 for some new underwear before waving her off at the door.

The woman said that he repeatedly complimented her and he told her that she had a fantastic body.

But when he made sexual advances to her, she rejected him. She said that she was woken by Mr Taylor, who appeared in her bedroom doorway holding a belt and ordered her downstairs.

Richard Newbury, prosecuting, said: "He became angry, saying 'Come on, get up', and was nipping her."

The jury was told that once downstairs, he struck her with the belt about ten times. The jury was shown photographs of weals on her thighs, stomach, back and arms.

She tried to leave but, according to the prosecution, Mr Taylor prevented her. The court was told that he then forced her to perform a sex act on the kitchen floor, before ordering her upstairs into a bedroom, where the attack continued.

It was then that he lay on top of her and urinated, the prosecution has alleged.

When the woman went to her mother's home and showed her the belt injuries, police were called and Mr Taylor was arrested.

Mr Newbury said: "He said to the police that she was willing and that this was the relationship that they had."

Mr Taylor, of Lealholm Road, Hartlepool, denies three charges of oral rape, sexual assault and actual bodily harm.

The case continues.
