AN award-winning butcher has won gold medals at an industry awards ceremony.
Butchers Harry Coates and Son, which has shops in Framwellgate Moor and Coxhoe, Durham City, won four gold medals and two overall championship wins at the British Pig Executive regional roadshow for butchers, held in Stockton.
The company won gold with its herbed lamb sausages, pork and black pudding sausages, and its lamb hotpot and beef cobbler ready meals.
In addition, the beef dish, a casserole topped with savoury cheese scones, was overall champion ready meal, while the herbed lamb sausage was champion in the beef or lamb sausage category
