Police appeal in club attack: A MAN had his jaw broken in three places in an assault at a Teesside nightspot.

The 35-year-old was dancing on the floor of The Deck, in Bath Street, Redcar, at about 1am on November 19, when he was attacked from behind. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, where he underwent surgery and had three metal plates inserted in his jaw. ROAD CLOSED: An emergency road closure was put in place on Majuba Road, Redcar, to remove the sand that was accumulating and making the road unsafe for motorists.

FLYING HIGH: Flying Marske is the title of a talk on the First World War to be given by Phil Philo at a meeting of Cleveland Retired Men's Association, at 10.30am, on Wednesday, at Coatham Road Social Club, Redcar. New members are welcome.

MOWLAM TRIBUTE: All 200 tickets for members of the public to attend Mo Mowlam's Redcar memorial service have been taken. The service is on Saturday at St Peter's Church, at 2pm.
