JOEY Hutchinson may be forced to put his Darlington return on hold after his latest setback.

The 23-year-old influential defender is struggling to be fit in time to face Macclesfield Town tomorrow after picking up a calf injury.

Hutchinson has missed Quakers' last two games through suspension following his controversial dismissal at Wrexham last month.

Now the former Birmingham City stopper is facing the prospect of being unavailable for a third successive game.

"It's real hard luck on the boy," admitted manager David Hodgson. "He's been working really hard to keep himself in good shape after missing our last couple of games.

"We gave him a run-out for the reserves earlier in the week, and it is possible he's picked up the problem then.

"We'll have another look at him on Friday, but at the moment it doesn't look good."

Quakers welcome back Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu from suspension tomorrow, while David Duke is expected to return to the squad after a head injury.

Former Sunderland midfielder Jonjo Dickman has recovered from an ankle problem and could figure.

Clyde Wijnhard will be allowed to play against Quakers, less than six weeks after the Dutchman was sacked by Hodgson.

Wijnhard is still technically a Darlington player after the club retained the striker's registration details.

He was able to join another club on loan until the full transfer window re-opens in January.

The 32-year-old has scored three goals in seven appearances since joining the Silkmen.

"It's been great for me because I'm getting the opportunity to play and score goals," said Wijnhard, who netted 15 goals in 39 starts for Quakers.

"When I was at Darlington I didn't really have the chance and I'm sure that everyone will appreciate that as a footballer you always want to be on the pitch.

"Now it's up to me to prove to the club what I can do. The ball is in their court - all I can do is try my best.

"I'm looking forward to playing against Darlington. It'll be very interesting for me to play against my old teammates."
