WOULD-BE astronomers have the chance to look out for meteors, under the guidance of a local expert.
Astronomer John Reed and author Darren Bushnall, who has written a book on astronomy, will talk people through the night sky on Thursday next week.
The event, called Night Sky -Watching the Meteors, will be held at Hartlepool Council's Summerhill Country Park, off Catcote Road.
The evening, supported by the Manor West Project, which has supplied a telescope for the evening, is from 7pm to 9pm.
Tony Davison, Summerhill manager, said: "The evening will be an excellent opportunity to watch the night sky."
The event costs £1.20 and booking is essential. Under- eights must be accompanied by an adult.
