WORLD-famous footwear designed exclusively for stars - including ex-Spice Girl Geri Halliwell - is being used to inspire young entrepreneurs.

The glittering array of heels, including Ginger Spice's sparkling Union Jack platform boots, will storm on to the stage at a careers advice event next week.

Full on Futures is aimed at helping about 900 youngsters, aged 14 to 16, find out more about creative industries.

Some of the biggest names in design and technology will head the event, including fashion designer Wayne Hemingway, actor Daymon Britton, of the children's television series Byker Grove, and Catherine MacLellan, footwear designer and the face behind the famous shoes.

It will take places at the Tall Trees, Yarm, Teesside, next Wednesday and Thursday.

Miss MacLellan is ladies design manager for Shellys and her first major break was to design the Union Jack boots for the pop diva.

Only two pairs of the boots were ever made and the other pair were recently sold for more than £3,000 at a pop memorabilia auction.

There are still places available. For details, call (0191) 3709559.
