ENGLAND'S Ashes hero Steve Harmison was clocked by police travelling at the speed he can bowl a cricket ball - 97mph.
The world's top ranked test bowler was caught by a police traffic car on the A1(M), in North Yorkshire as he was heading north at Boroughbridge in his black BMW X5.
The Durham and England star was stopped by police shortly after 10pm on August 15.
Yesterday, he pleaded guilty to speeding in a letter to Harrogate magistrates.
The 26-year-old is in Sydney, Australia, where he is playing for the ICC World IX against Australia.
He offered no mitigation.

The bowler, who regularly registers speeds of more than 90 mph on cricket's bowling speed gun, was fined £100.
He was also ordered to pay £45 costs and had three penalty points put on his licence.
