PEOPLE have a chance to make their mark - literally - at a free art workshop this week.

The drop-in Big Draw event will take place on Saturday, at Billingham Art Gallery, in the town centre, where an entire wall of the gallery will be covered in artwork.

Artists of varying talents and ages can join artist Chiu Kwong Man in creating the collaborative drawing.

Chiu, whose own surreal artwork will be on display in the coming days, will help people to explore their imaginations and develop the visual story by adding their own marks, lines, shapes and objects to the mural.

Kate Mahaffy, exhibition co-ordinator for Stockton Borough Council, said: "Collaborative drawing is a great way to fire your imagination by bouncing and feeding off other people's input.

"They are also very exciting as there is no way to know what the end result will turn out to be."

The Big Draw event will take place at the art gallery between 10.30am and 4pm.
