Biofuels firm D1 Oils has confirmed plans to create a biodiesel research facility in the region which could create up to 30 jobs.
Stockton-based D1, which is signing deals across the world to grow crops that can be converted into oil, said it would set up the facility on Teesside to test ways of processing the oil into biodiesel.
The facility will be in an existing building at Billingham Industrial Estate.
