A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl received hospital treatment for a cut to her head after someone threw a stone at her while she was playing with friends.
The girl was playing with a friend on a footpath behind Bell Stores, Oakfield, Newton Aycliffe, on Wednesday, at 6pm, when she was hit by the stone.
PC Andy Wilson said: "The child was obviously very upset and shocked."
Witnesses are asked to contact police on 0845 60 60 365.
