PUPILS from two schools with differing environments have joined together to create their own music and dance production.

Middlesbrough's North Ormesby Primary and St Paulinus RC Primary, in Guisborough, are taking part in a year-long National Trust scheme to link rural and urban schools.

The project, based at Ormesby Hall, Middlesbrough, has enabled the youngsters to work together over the past three months on workshops where they have learned new skills.

The result is a lively and creative, music and dance performance, based on their reactions to the historic environment of the hall, including the lions in the family crest.

Liz Hayward, education officer at Ormesby Hall, said: "We have been very pleased to see the two schools get to know each other by collaborating in such a creative way.

"The workshops have been a hive of activity and the enthusiasm of the children and teachers has been quite infectious. The children have obviously enjoyed learning new skills in this special way."
