CHILDREN from Derwentside have been invited to spend a few mornings of their holidays learning about woodlands and helping to take care of South Stanley Woods.
The Wild in the Woods programme is open to children aged eight to 12 and will involve some practical woodland work, woodland arts and crafts and a visit to Thornley Woodland Centre.
It will take place in Craghead Village Hall, today and tomorrow, from 10am to 1pm, and on Thursday, from 10am to 3pm.
The Groundwork West Durham programme is free, following funding from the Big Lottery, the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit and the Green Corridor Neighbourhood Partnership.
Places are limited, and a parental consent form must be filled in for each child taking part.
For information, phone Groundwork West Durham on (01207) 693202.
