A MAN had his face slashed and jaw broken during an unprovoked attack.
It happened to the 20-year-old Newcastle man at 2.25am on Sunday on the pedestrian footbridge at Newbridge Street, near Manors Metro station, in the city.
He was taken to Newcastle General Hospital, where he is being treated.
A 22-year-old Newcastle man was also injured in the attack and suffered a cut nose.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending inquiries.
