A MOTHER who allegedly went on a sunshine holiday leaving her three children behind appeared in court today to face three counts of child neglect.
Kelly Ann Rogerson, 24, from Darlington, is alleged to have gone on a two-week holiday to Turkey on June 13, leaving her children in the care of a teenage babysitter.
She appeared before Darlington Magistrates Court yesterday morning to face three charges of child neglect. The children cannot be named for legal reasons.
Miss Rogerson spoke only to confirm her name, address and date of birth in the four-minute hearing, and no pleas to the charges were entered.
Magistrates adjourned the case until Tuesday, August 9, when she was ordered to re-appear. Her unconditional bail was extended.
