FOUR council workers have been honoured for showing dedication to their jobs.

The Richmondshire District Council employees have received an Excellence in Performance Award.

Grounds maintenance officers Tom Henry and Graham Staveley won praise for their part in implementing the dog-fouling enforcement notice scheme.

In addition to their normal duties, the pair received specialist training and have been responsible for issuing 22 of the 23 enforcement notices given to date.

Sandra Hullah was recognised for her dedication to electoral services during the county council elections, in May.

Carole Dew, not pictured, from the information and communications unit, was rewarded for her work during the relocation of the Hawes and Colburn Community offices and the opening of the new community office in Richmond. The awards are handed out every quarter.
