A NORTH Yorkshire church is opening its door to the public for a two-part exhibition.
The Victorian church at Baldersby St James, near Thirsk, is hosting an exhibition of fine church embroideries, including a magnificent new altar kneeler.
The Memorial Brass Society is also exhibiting rubbings of church brasses from around the county
The exhibition runs from August 6 to 13 and is open from 10am to 6pm daily. Refreshments will be available.
On Friday, August 5, there will be a wine and finger buffet at 7.30pm, with an opportunity to view the exhibition, followed at 8pm by a lecture by Martin Stuchfield, the conservation officer of the brass society.
Tickets are £8, concessions £5 and are available at the door. All proceeds will go to the restoration of the 160ft church spire.
