SENIOR police officers have organised a meeting with concerned residents to discuss crime problems in South Tyneside.
Police in Jarrow hope to discuss their plans for the future policing of the area at the meeting planned in the town on Wednesday, July 19.
The meeting has been organised by Northumbria Police Authority and will be chaired by South Tyneside councillor Linda Waggott.
It will be the latest in a series of Police and Community Forum meetings to be held in the area this year as part of the police authority's regular consulations with the public.
A police spokesman said: "It is an open public meeting where local residents can ask senior officers about policing in the area and have their say on its effectiveness. Anyone can come."
The meeting will be held in Jarrow Town Hall at 7pm
