VOLUNTARY groups will come together tomorrow to discuss fostering links to improve the lives of North-East people.
Paul Boateng, Minister of Home Affairs, will make the keynote address at the conference, Making it Happen, at Ushaw College, near Durham.
He will outline Government plans for community groups to form "compacts", partnerships with statutory bodies, to improve all links and ensure future funding.
It will be followed by a short question and answer session from the conference floor.
Tomorrow's gathering is being attended by 200 delegates, but is also being broadcast on a special website. To follow the webcast, log on to www.onevoice.co.uk/Compac
