THE father of a baby who died earlier this year is running a five-a-side football competition to raise money for other bereaved parents.

John Jackson has organised the competition between 16 teams at the Middlesbrough Football Academy, in Eston, on Sunday.

The contest runs from 9.30am until 2pm and spectators are welcome to see who wins the Daniel Tandy cup, named after Mr Jackson's son.

Mr Jackson said: "Through donations and fundraising we have already raised £500 for the bereaved parents at South Cleveland Hospital.

"I decided to name the cup after my son to make his name live on. We hope everyone has a good time on Sunday and we raise lots of money for a good cause.
